Moose Lake, MN – July 14, 2023 – Yamaha Pro Angler Spencer Deutz hosted the Sixth Annual Youth and Family Fishing Clinic in Moose Lake, MN bringing together young fishing enthusiasts and their families for an event filled with education, hands-on activities, and a glimpse into the world of professional angling.
The clinic kicked off with a seminar where future anglers learned about aquatic nuisance species, on-the-water safety, and fish identification. Following the seminar, the kids broke up into four stations, each offering unique learning experiences in casting, bait identification and more.
A highlight of the event was “Project Tikka Mino,” where the youth learned to create their own customized fishing lures. The project allowed them to explore their creative abilities while gaining an understanding of lure design principles. At the end of the fishing season, 10 winners will be chosen and their drawings will be converted to an actual Tikka Mino fishing lure.
To conclude the event, the participants were treated to a tour of Deutz’s state-of-the-art boat, a 2023 Ranger 620FSPro, powered by a Yamaha 300XCB engine. The young anglers had the opportunity to explore the boat’s features and learn about the advanced technologies that enhance fishing experiences.
Each youth angler received a complimentary rod and reel combination courtesy of the National Professional Anglers Association Future Angler Foundation, so they can continue their fishing journeys, and become future ambassadors of the sport.
