Forestville, WI: The Hiawatha National Forest and partners are co-hosting our 26th year Kids Fishing Day at Camp 7 Campground Day Use Area on Saturday June 10th from 11:00am until 3:30pm. This year promises to be awesome as we have several new events including Backyard Bass with Professional NPAA Angler Educator Captain Greg Karch who will teach the techniques of casting (See picture).
There will again be the trout pond fishing, intro to Fly Fishing, minnow races, casting contest, AIS games, only to mention a few, as well as free food. It is a free, fun filled day for both kids and adults. No registration is required. The Future Angler Foundation will again be donating rod/reel combos for participants. Co-sponsors include Michigan DNR, Wildlife Unlimited of Delta County, and Bay De Noc Chapter of Great Lakes Sport Fishermen Inc. and many local businesses, service organizations, fishing product companies, and volunteers. A big thank you to Gary Olson and Forest Service retirees.
